Small differences matter when you buy gold. Record weights in grams to two decimal places, with the carat beside each item, so you can look back at the detail you entered.
A price each, or a price for the group?
Record the agreed price per item or for all the items on a line. Stockbox shows the item price and line total, with the purchase total brought together for you.

A few practical questions
Know how it will work.
Can I record different carats in one purchase?
Yes. Choose Scrap / Multi-buy and add separate lines for the pieces or groups you are buying. A 9ct chain and an 18ct ring can each have their own carat, weight, quantity and agreed price within the same purchase.
Can I enter decimal gram weights?
Yes. Stockbox records weights in grams to two decimal places. A weight entered as 12.70g stays 12.70g on the buying record, alongside the carat.
Can I price items individually or as a group?
Yes. Choose Price per item or Price for all items for the purchase. The choice applies to each line: Price for all items covers the quantity on that line. Stockbox shows the item price, line total and combined purchase total.
Do I need a stock product before selling scrap on?
No. You can create an onward sales order directly from selected scrap lines in the buy-in record. If you are keeping a piece for retail sale, you can use Push to Stock instead.
Can I keep seller details and print a buying agreement?
Yes. Keep seller details, the purchase date, payment amount and payment method with the buy-in. Capture customer and staff signatures against the purchase and print the buying agreement.
